One afternoon my Labrador, Jovi and I were on a visit at a
nursing home. We were visiting with a resident who loved
dogs and was missing her dog who was staying with a friend.
The resident loved petting Jovi and smiled when Jovi
performed some tricks. A nurse came in to take the patient’s
blood pressure. I offered to leave the room, but the nurse
said to stay. When the nurse took the resident’s blood
pressure, she was amazed that it was the first time the
resident ever had a normal blood pressure. She was so happy
and said therapy dogs really work.
